The holiday season is upon us as the year comes to a close! This past year has been a whirlwind of change for so many, especially those involved with education- families and educators alike! Because we closed down our physical office in downtown Ojai at the start of the pandemic, we’ve heard concerns that Lighthouse may no longer be in business. We’re happy to say that we’ve continued to serve local families throughout the pandemic, and we plan to continue doing so far into the future!
Since the spring of 2020, our educational therapy and tutoring services have continued, without interruption, online. This fall, we also began seeing students in person again- in their homes, on their school campuses, and in our own home offices. As a result of the changes we’re seeing in education, we’ve also taken the time to strengthen our support for homeschooling families through direct instruction, workshops, and the development of our online learning program, Lighthouse Homeschool Solutions; if you haven’t done so already, please check it out!
Additionally, we have recently connected with several wonderful professionals to discuss ways in which we can collaborate in support of families in our community. Our educators’ group includes local educational therapists and special educators, and we are focused on developing and sharing a comprehensive database of the most effective resources, therapies, interventions, and programs, along with the best practitioners for referral in various disciplines. Be on the lookout for professional profiles of local practitioners in future posts! We hope that by creating an environment of collaboration, and by sharing knowledge and resources, we can better serve the community that has supported us over the years!
