Academic Summer Sessions!
June 14 – August 20, 2021
2 hours daily | Monday – Friday | $4,750 for 5 weeks
At Lighthouse, we are here to help fill in those gaps in skills and knowledge that have resulted from inconsistent learning opportunities. Our goal is to provide families with the resources and skills to help students of all ages and ability levels build on strengths and overcome challenges. This summer, let’s make a difference for your child that can last a lifetime!

DESCRIPTION: Over the course of the week, participants will develop an understanding of the theory and steps of successful research-based academic intervention, designed to facilitate academic skills and cognitive development in key areas of the brain.
SESSIONS: These workshops will be devoted to understanding foundations of learning, identifying cognitive skills to target for intervention, and providing tools for educators to incorporate into daily activities. We will also focus on clinical applications using research-validated techniques. Time will be spent practicing specific steps of each program.

Monday, June 7 & Tuesday, June 8 – Develop Language Imagery!
Improve mental imagery in order to enhance reading and listening comprehension. Learn to help students connect words to their senses! These techniques also benefit students who experience difficulty with expressive language.
Wednesday, June 9 & Thursday, June 10 – Strengthen Orthographic Memory!
Strengthen orthographic memory in order to improve reading fluency and spelling accuracy. These techniques benefit students who struggle with sight-word recognition and spelling of non-phonetic words.
Friday, June 11 – Improve Math Concepts and Processes!
Help your students develop mental imagery for math concepts before applying them to pencil and paper processes. These techniques provide a fun and engaging format through which to bring a student’s math skills to and beyond grade level.
