Rain in Ojai

The students of the Lighthouse School of Ojai had two days off of school because a big storm hit Ojai for the first time since the fires in December. All the schools in the Ojai Unified School District and some of the private schools were closed due to the threat of flooding and mudslides. When the storm started it rained hard! The rain lasted for two days. There was some minor flooding on the streets and in the streams. Luckily, there were no major mudslides in Ojai and everyone was safe.
Even though the schools had to close, the rain was still good for Ojai because we really need the water! We are still in a drought and need more water in Lake Casitas for drinking and cooking. Hopefully we will get even more rain this spring so the swimming holes will be full for the summer and we can go swimming!
