Camping with Character
By Sofia Misisco
As some of you may know, last week, the Lighthouse School of Ojai went on a overnight camping trip! When we were on this camping trip, we ran into a few problems, but all the students were able to figure them out. On this trip we persevered when things got tough, and we cooperated by putting our own needs aside for the sake of the group. Cooperation and perseverance made it easy for me and my class to enjoy our camping trip.
On our camping trip, perseverance helped us in so many ways. One of the ways it helped us was when we were setting up camp. The instructions were hard to read and the tents were very big and technical. We persevered and stuck with it and we managed to set up both of the tents in only a matter of time. We also had to cooperate to get the tents up. Cooperation is another awesome skill to learn.
On our camping trip we cooperated and that helped us a lot. It helped us a lot when we were setting up camp and also when we were making food for everyone. When one group went to prepare the meals for everyone, and the other team was playing we put our own needs aside for the sake of the group. Even though we wanted to play with the other kids, we knew that we couldn’t do that right at that moment. All of the meals turned awesome because we cooperated.
We had a very nice time at the camping beach. I am sad our trip had to come to an end, but we still had such a fun time. The beach was SO fun! It was very easy the to enjoy ourselves. I hope the Lighthouse School of Ojai goes on another trip again.
