Tom has many years of experience working with students at a variety of levels and ages, and all throughout this time he has tutored in math because he has loved math since he was in grade school. Every tutoring experience to him is a new and fresh challenge. He enjoys working one-on-one to provide the support for a student’s individual areas of concern.
Since 1968, Tom has worked with students when he taught at the Santa Barbara Free School and worked as Co-Director at the Community School in Santa Barbara. He later worked as a math consultant for the Open Alternative School at the Santa Barbara Unified School District while running an after school program and teaching photography at Anacapa High School. He then worked with students diagnosed with learning disorders at the Santa Barbara Educational Clinic. He also taught a photography class at the Santa Barbara Homeless Shelter, worked as an Assistant Director at the summer camp Camp Jolly Roger, and supervised the summer playground for the Carpinteria Recreation Department.
