Professional consultation is available to families who would like for the student’s individual learning plan to be integrated with the school’s education plan. Consultation can include meetings with teachers and other professionals involved in the student’s education for the purposes of planning, training, and collaboration.
Distance consultation can also be arranged for families who do not live locally and wish to have a tutor in their community trained in implementing our programming recommendations. Training, weekly session plans, materials, and weekly consultation with the tutor of your choice can be arranged through our office.
Parent Training is a critical component of the individual learning plan. Parents are educated on the theory behind the recommended intervention programs. They also observe and participate in sessions and learn techniques, tasks, and strategies to facilitate skill development at home. Parent training is conducted free of charge with families of currently enrolled students.
We offer informational and training workshops, throughout the year in order to provide tools and strategies to parents and educators. Topics include parenting skills, accessing resources for struggling learners, understanding and addressing learning challenges, and differentiating instruction in the classroom.
