The Museum Field Trip
By Ruby Garver (age 12)
About two weeks ago the students of the Lighthouse school of Ojai went to the Ojai Museum to see art that people created about the Thomas Fire that hit the area in December. There was a beautiful red dress that was supposed to be the dress of a fire goddess. There were many paintings that showed images of the Ojai during the Thomas Fire and some pieces of art that were meant to show how Ojai can rise from the ashes and move on from the tragedy. The art was inspiring and beautiful!
We also saw art other than that created for the Thomas Fire. For example, we saw a typewriter that we were allowed to use, more displays about the history of Ojai, and a diorama of the natural habitat in Ojai. It was really fun and I know that all of us would like to visit the museum again in the future!
