It was a beautiful day for the Lighthouse School’s field trip to the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens! Our students have been learning about California native plants and animals all week and got a chance to see many of them at the Gardens today while following our Social Thinking group plan, practicing being part of the group, and thinking of others. The students walked through the Redwood forest, learned about the many oak and sage species native to California, and hiked up to a beautiful viewpoint where they had a clear view of the ocean and islands beyond! Our students came away able to identify many of the trees and plants we see every day.
